I teach a course, Social Conflict, Justice and Peacemaking. For a theoretical background I used Coser, The Functions of Social Conflict in the past. The course also has a section on mediation and conflict resolution.
Does anyone have a suggestion of something more current than Coser which is relatively short to give a theoretical foundation to how sociologists look at conflict?
