Sarah, I'll participate if there isn't a conflict. Ironically, I am thinking
of proposing a tour to my campus--West Point--for sociologists attending the
ASA--opportunity to visit a relative total institution. We're an hour north of
NYC. It will be a full day affair so I'll have to deconflict some
stuff...funny, in a couple weeks we have a sociology class visiting with us
called Legacies of Vietnam--we putting on a panel specialists on the military.
How about same courses visiting courses at different campuses as creative
trips? Has anyone done an overseas course--taking students abroad for credit?
I'm thinking of writing a proposal for a Sociology of the Holocaust and
visiting Holland/Germany/Poland etc. morten

Del and Morten,
I love your suggestions!!
I should've mentioned this is for an ASA workshop this August. Anyone want
to join in as a group leader? I am "chairing" this workshop.

I teach a Saturday course, so I've been limited as to the more traditional
trips to prisons, shelters, etc.
