Hi all,
Also posting on dc404, and raspberrypi.org forums.
I'm trying to get set up for programming on the raspberry pi (arm6 cpu)
in the go language. You can install go on the pi and compile things
there, BUT, I'm looking for a good basic IDE for go. I haven't found
one that looks good that runs on the pi. So, I'd like to build my
development environment on on Windows, probably running the Zeus IDE. (
http://www.zeusedit.com/ ) WINE might come to mind. But, aside from
the resource limits, WINE won't help me run Zeus on the pi because Zeus
is compiled for x86 and pi is running on arm. WINE does not emulate an
x86 on an arm platform. It just makes the Windows x86 api available on
x86 platforms. So, I'll be running Zeus on my Windows machine and
writing code. Then, I want to cross compile the executables to run on
the pi's arm chip. I know go can do this, and I've found David Cheny's
website discussing the subject after googling. But, I was wondering do
any of you have knowledge or experience of how to do this. It's not
like something I've ever tried before, and I like the idea of having
local contacts in Atlanta.
Here's the link I already found, but haven't had a chance to plod
through yet.

Zeus is $ 90, which I'm willing to spend. But, since it won't run on
the pi, I need to know I can cross compile before I buy it.
Any help is appreciated.
Sincerely,
Ron
