Hi William,

Good to hear from you. Thanks for that info. I've found out that there's a LOT to know about quads and a pretty steep learning curve. Potential things hindering me are a) no place to fly, b) $$$, and c) finding friends to fly with in Forsyth Co GA or somewhere relatively close. I'm considering 3 different approaches: 1) a $ 70 - 90 Dromida Ominus entry level quad or similar, 2) a $ 200 ish HeliMax 230si or similar, 3) a diy $ 250 ish from the frame up project ah la the one they're documenting on the Know How podcast. The latter 2 are pretty pricey. I'm pretty sure I'd tire quickly of flying in my house or up and down my driveway, assuming I don't lose or wreck the thing. Hence the need to find flying buddies.

Sincerely,

Ron

Hi guys,

I'm considering getting or building a 250 ish mm quadcopter. Are there
any pilots here? I'd like to compare notes and info with you to learn
more about the hobby. Please let me know how you got into the hobby.

By the way, the Know How podcast on the TWIT network has / is discussing
how to build your own.

Sincerely,

Ron
