I did some testing about 6mos ago on this topic.  I had a couple different 
models and ended up choosing MS 3000.

We use it in a conference room setting where it needed to reach 40ft and also 
through a drywall closet (pc in closet).  It's really performed well, the only 
downside is that the mouse laser does not auto shutoff on its own.  It requires 
the USB key to return into the bottom of the mouse in order for the laser to 
shutoff.

I say that as a bad thing, but in 6mos of regular "boardroom" use, I haven't 
had to swap batteries yet either.
