The original 3Ware RAID Card ³locks² the hard drive, at the drive-level. By re-inserting it back in the original RAID card and deleting the unit, it unlocked the drive. When exiting the 3Ware utility, you MUST press F8 to exit and save changes, or the change will not be saved. The drives are now able to be partitioned/formatted.
