I would think you might want to look into the hidden partition thing. I was
using a Windows Image Server to image the ones I have and I had to boot them
with something else (I think it was - GASP! a windows 98 boot disk!) and
blow away the hidden partition on the boxes before I imaged them. Once I
booted with the NIC and the PE from the Windows image server I also blew
away ALL the partitions and then formatted them and THEN imaged them. (The
windows PE did all that for me.)
It could be that it is trying to re-image itself back to the original OS
after you have imaged it, and it may be going to get that image from a
partition that you have blown away.
Just grasping at other straws.
- Why the heck are we going for straws anyway?

<< Yeah some pen drives are a bit of a pain to get to be bootable. >>
I think we've been successful at getting pen/thumb drives to boot with
UltimateBoot, but something still isn't working correctly when we try
to boot to a netbook to re-image it. The netbook bluescreens even
though it is the exact same computer as the one from which we got the
image.
We're grasping at straws, scratching our heads, at that point where
one's imagination runs wild trying to figure out why it's not working
-- and the idea that there may be some fault in the USB memory sticks
was one of those wild ideas.

We DEFINITELY had that problem. The fellow who is helping me managed
to over come that in order to get our "base" computer. Still, I wonder
if that could be an issue on the netbooks we are trying to re-image
Perhaps they have to be prepped some additional way.
Thanks for taking a shot at this. We're getting desperate with two
weeks before school starts.
