If you just want it to be a web server running Joomla (or any other
xAMP apps--Mac OS X Server is a great platform for open source web
apps), you can set it up as "Standalone" and not worry about binding
to any directory, since you don't need any accounts other than the
server administrator.

One thing to make sure of is that there is a forward and a reverse DNS
record for the machine ahead of time.  A Mac OS X Server is is much
happier if it can resolve its own name when it starts up.

What version of Mac OS X Server is it running?  (Pull down the Apple
menu and choose "About this Mac".)
