I'm not sure how it does it or why but the latest GCalendar module includes
Google maps for the location fields.

You might figure out a way to hijack that portion of the module without using
the calendar portion.

How is the map wrapped so tight?

Our junior high conference has done what you've suggested and created a custom

I would also be curouis to see something more elagant, but when faced with the
poor wrapping of the google maps inside of Joomla I opted to show a static map
with a link straight to the full google maps:

I bet you could do a custom map and have a link to it to tackle the sports part.

Like I said, I too would like to make it even better, but I thought this was
one step better.

I have ad a Google map in a wrapper on our Joomla site, but I'm not happy with
it. It doesn't look as clean as I'd like.

Any recommendations for what to use as a module - component - menu item which
would provide directions to our school?

I'd also like to have some kind of map which had all of the other schools in
our sports conference so that parents could easily get directions when we have
away games.

Thanks,
