The office received two HP notebooks, each about 3 years old, with XP on them. However, the person has cleaned them in such a way that I need to Activate Windows before I can log on. However, it does not find connectivity. The Dells I receive from this person also need activation but connect fine to the cloud and wa la I am off and running. Not the HPs. The first one I just slapped a linux version on called Peppermint. Seems easy for the teachers to use. But gosh darn it, I want to use XP on this recent one. It seems like the drivers for the nic are not loading before the need to activate comes on. Any suggestions? Thanks.
