Agreed, inside the network I don't see how you could handle that without 
putting a firewall of some sort in front of or on the machine receiving the 
connections.  Windows uses user names for authentications, if you want to block 
by ip, you'd need a network solution.

I know it's an older product, but is zone alarm still around?  Is that an 
option?

As far as I know, you can only lock it down by usernames in the same place you 
enable the Remote Desktop Connection.
