I don't have a problem with unsolicited calls per se. Nor do I
consider them a faux pas for vendors. Note I actually said "unwanted
solicitations" which is a different elephant altogether.

I had a vendor begin calling me last winter wanting to have a
"conference call" with my superintendent so the vendor could pitch his
wares. I was not interested (and had no budget for it anyway) and said
so quite clearly. I received the same call a month later from the same
person. And then again two months after that. In June, he began
calling me two or three times a week. I finally had to write to the
company and demand that they put a stop to this, which they did
immediately.

Note... this was *not* a vendor from the tech geeks list (so far as I know).
