If you want any let me know, I published a list of what I have a while
back. Though I can't share stuff like MS office or VNC because they
have our codes/passwords.

Thanks Joseph . . . that is helpful, looks like you have quite a few
snappins already . . . So far I am impressed with FOG, but keep
hitting little stumbling blocks that I have to work through. Just
have to find the time . . .

Here is a quick video of me creating an Adobe 9.3 snapin (Did not
do updates because I would have gone of screencast's 15 min
limit... but you can do them before creating the package or so
I've noticed on the applications I have snapins for) but did some
setting changes just to show you can alter settings:
http://cusd187.stclair.k12.il.us/video/ (Click the "Creating FOG
Snapins" on the right side)
Here is a zipped mp4 if anyone wants a copy to keep:

Just a note, some setting changes stay and some do not, have to
figure out which on a program basis. I've also noticed that the
InstallRite packages do not always apply setting changes you make
when you just double click and launch the install package. (As
oppose to deploying via FOG which always, so far, seems to keep
all setting changes.)

I've recently installed Installrite and like you said, there is
little documentation.
The software looks very dated, which is not bad if it works, but
I tried to follow the steps they suggested and did get an
"install kit" but the thing (.exe) is only like 260kb. I don't
really know what this install kit does. I have it and have the
installation file for Open Office which is MANY Mb but don't know
what to do now. Do I run the install kit from the same folder
where the installation file lives?
No real answer here, but certainly there are some on the list who
know.
I really had the same questions as you on Friday, but of course
could offer no answers.

P.S. - I had the same password issues as you with the PXE
screen. Please let us know what you find.

Well not very well I didn't even get to download
Installrite. I had a problem with the school finance
computer that took a while to straighten out and wife
wouldn't let me play with my computers after that 8^)).
Maybe some time this week.
I also discovered that the FOG server wasn't taking the
password for the PXE boot menu so I had to take it down as I
didn't want the kiddies making quick images of machines etc.
Still have to work on that, I think the upgrade from 0.26 to
0.29 may have buggered up something as some of the other
changes don't seem to stick either. 8^( I still haven't
looked at the logs to see if anything show up . . . may be
time to start over.

I am going to try to test out the Snapin module in FOG
this weekend and was wondering if anybody was using it yet?
I was wondering:
How it was working
any problem apps
what installer you are using: InstallRite, SFXMaker . . .
Tips or tricks . . .
any problems with msi installs
How do you configure the app? Can you configure it as
you are creating the snapin?
Is there any documentation/How-to's for InstallRite or
SFXMaker that could be recommended? Niether the
InstallRite or the SFXMaker website have much in the way
of documentation and I haven't installed either yet to
see if the Help sections is any good. The FOG page
makes it seem pretty straight forward but doesn't
include much besides the basics.
Thanks, Have a great weekend all . . .
