I have everything locked down on my network based on the GPO's assigned to individual users. I also deploy important desktop links to users through my GPO. The problem is, on my 200 new machines, the links show up and work great, on my older machines using the same GPO, no links show up, but the GPO is in place cause all the settings work. Any clue to why all my older machines are not loading the desktop icons I deploy to them? I have disable wallpaper set in Group Policy which removes the option to set wallpaper in IE but not in MS image viewer. It's very inconsistent I feel. I've decided I don't care enough about that battle especially since it's a profile based wallpaper anyway. Now back in the win98 days when one person changing the wallpaper to something vulgar affected everybody that sat down, that was a different story! :) Curtis McKay Network Administrator Belleville Township High School District 201 [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Richard Kasson Sent: Tuesday, August 31, 2010 8:48 AM To: 'Tech-Geeks Mailing List' Subject: Re: [tech-geeks] Group Policy Dan to stop them from changing the desktop, go to User configuration-Administrative Templates-Active Desktop- and look for prohibit changes in the right pane. I've got prohibit adding items, deleting items, and a specific wallpaper set. I look in the GPEDIT and so far haven't found anything. Better yet is there any documentation n Group Policy? Thanks -- Daniel E.
