I'd like to invest in a good, wider-range lens in the future, too. I was
eyeballing this one a while ago, but don't have the cash: http://amzn.to/9wyz9W
It would be even better if it were a faster lens, but then of course the price
would jump even higher.

Right now I swap between my 18-55mm and my 55-200mm. Most of the time it's not
too bad, but there are times it's just a pain in the neck. I also don't like
doing it in windy/dusty environments if I can help it, or at a beach. I did
find a bag to make it a little easier, though: http://amzn.to/aKwhAt There are
a few sizes, I forget if I ended up with the 6x or 7x. But on vacation hiking
around, this bag was great. Very light, unobtrusive, and easy to get to when I
needed to get out the camera or swap lenses.

I do most of my shooting in P mode and I do play with custom white balances a
lot, particularly when I'm shooting indoors without flash. Where I'm really
weak is in post. I'd like to take some classes on PhotoShop, etc, and play with
RAW a little more. I've got a book that deals with a lot of that, but it's been
sitting on my office floor for six months now. Just haven't had time to get at
it.
