Geeks,
Thanks for the feedback about the SORBS block. I have a better understanding of the problem now and hopefully will be able to clear it up. As many have said, this list is a priceless resource. Sorbs and fiveten. Use http://www.mxtoolbox.com to check your IP number (204.42.26.69) You do have some issues on your mail server that should be resolved. Dnsstuff reports your mailserver hostname is claiming to be something other than it is. This is a technical violation of RFC821 and RFC2821. You don't have a postmaster or Abuse addresses, also no-no's. Lastly, you need to get an SPF record built and added to DNS. Now for fixing SORBS. Follow the instructions at www.sorbs.net Fiveten's page is http://www.five-ten-sg.com/blackhole.php plug in your ip number and follow instructions... -- Sincerely, Ron Egolf, MCSE Area IV Learning Technology Center Rantoul, IL 217-893-1431 reg...@area4.k12.il.us -- On 9/9/10 4:27 PM, "Jay Hill" <jh...@princeville326.org> wrote: Hello Geeks, Our district changed to another Internet provider this summer along with increasing our bandwidth. This also meant changing our public IP address range, DNS records, reverse look-up, forward look-up, and so on. Apparently the IP address range we were given had been entered in a few of the major spam databases most of which our provider was able to have removed. Well, there is always the exception..... Our IP range is apparently still on a database called SORBS which is used by an e-mail provider of someone one of our teachers wishes to communicate with. Our Internet provider has submitted requests to be removed that are not being processed. The entry in sorbs has an entry date in 2003! Have any of you had to deal with this? If so, can you please let me know how to proceed? Jay Hill Technology Coordinator Princeville CUSD #326 This e-mail (including any attachments) is confidential and may be legally privileged.
