We use the site license from movlic.com and it is pretty affordable. It covers a great deal of movies. We also use this so we can do fundraisers as well.

I have been looking at the laws and from what I can tell, if they are using the movie as part of directly teaching a subject, then you don't need a license (I assume this is what they mean by face-to-face). If you are just using the movie as a reward in the class, then you need one. I am sure my staff have shown things for reward purposes that were on VCR/DVD, but I always felt that it was up to them to worry about copyright laws since I am not involved. Now I am if I purposely unblock Netflix for this use. How many of you obtain an umbrella license from MPLC.org and how do they calculate the cost?
