yes - I do tunnel vnc through ssh for work related stuff (my desktop cmpt in
the office is Ubuntu.)
I am going to try to help my mom this evening.

I am going to go with Teamviewer. I like their quick connect - I'll share a
link with her and have her read a string of numbers back to me...we will be
on the phone already anyhow...
