That is what am thinking will happen if Microsoft would buy the Novell
half. I would say start planning, but hope for the best. The thought I had
is what happens with those who are running SLES? You are running Suse with
eDir on top of it so you would be in both sides, how do you split that up?
If someone buys Novell and doesn't keep the current structure, Novell is
dead. What I would think they should do is keep Zenworks and GroupWise as
they are platform independent and make them their own products, but then
what to do about a network operating system. I think no matter what that
anyone who is running Novell needs to be thinking about the future as Novell
may not have one.

Does this mean that everyone running on a Novell network will have to
migrate to something else?? That would be really costly (if moving to MS)
for most and, at least, a pain for others...

I'm torn. I really do like my Novell system. Lately, I've felt that my
Netware/Zenworks/Groupwise/BM setup has been a little restricting to get
some things done. However, there is no way I would have been able to do
what I have been doing on the equipment I have with Windows. Luckily the
cost of servers ready for VMs are rather cheap.

I'll miss my app launcher though. :(
