It CAN be worse! About 6 or 7 years ago when we had to do our plan the
brainiac that got shuffled around at ISBE and landed on the "you get to do
the tech plans this year" square decided we needed to do them all ON PAPER.
Sort of a "by hand" project. Yeah we had info in an online system from last
time - but hey lets not let them use that - paper is a better way to go!

Sometimes they get so wrapped up in how things should be done, they totally
forget what they set out to do in the first place. No tech plan is any good
after 30 days anyway - I mean what vendor is going to give you prices on any
system 6 months down the road - let alone 3 years!

I can't say anything nice about Tech plans. I just don't see how they are
technically a tech plan. I think they need to be termed Fundamental
Organizational Outline of Longitudinal Instruction by School Honorees.

I seriously think however FOOLISH the basis is sound. I don't think it is
really in the realm of "tech" though. I think it is more appropriate for
school administrators on the curriculum side to address the needs and paths
the district wants to pursue educationally and instructionally. Tech only
has small hand in what these plans are designed for but somehow we the tech
republic get the brunt of doing these plans I think sometimes because
Administration might not want to or be confused because it is titled "Tech
Plan."
