There's no great answer to this dilemma.  If you honestly need all day use, 
we've had success with the Dell Latitude E series laptops.  We even bought the 
extended battery "slice" that connects to the bottom of the laptop.  They end 
up being bulkier and heavier but they will run all day no question.

Subject: [tech-geeks] Laptop / Netbook Charging

For those of you who have purchased laptops or netbooks for student use that 
are intended to be checked out and used every period, how are you keeping them 
charged enough to use every period for the entire school day?  With spare 
batteries to allow a battery change during the day, they'd start charging the 
current battery in the laptop after school, but then someone needs to put the 
spare in 2-3 hrs later to charge it.   Is there a better solution?
