The only drawback is that everyone has to watch the same channel when using ChannelOne as a distribution point. Kind of a bummer when two people want to use it at the same time to watch something different or someone wants to use ChannelOne Connections. It's been an adventure in sharing and planning ahead, but is working out OK.

They donate up to 4 receivers per school if I remember correctly. You have to pay for installation of the dish and any necessary cable. If you have cable to every room already, that shouldn't be a major expense. I think it cost me $1100 to get the dish mounted and cable run to 4 locations. We use ChannelOne to distribute DirectTV to the Jr. High and High School. Then we have separate receivers for the History teacher, Library, and the Superintendent for weather etc. You get the basic Direct TV package for nothing. The process is fairly simple and straight forward. The hardest part is finding someone to do the install and then getting Direct TV to answer the phone to activate the receivers.
