Sure the price is possible. It is a company that is being funded by India's government. The company will not have any marketing to add to the product's cost. Their won't be a lot of R&D to recover because they will be using technology that is proven and in widespread use. The don't have shareholders to satisfy with huge profits. And they don't have salespeople, network consultants, fancy packaging, etc. to drive up the price.
The price will probably be closer to $50 or maybe even $75.

The "failure" will come when people want this device to "replace" the $500 laptop. It can't do that. But, like any other device on the market, if you understand its capabilities and its limitations and don't try to "make it do what it can't", then the device can be a success.
