Hi all, I was going through the freenet docs when I came across this:
http://freenet.sourceforge.net/index.php?page=icsi-revised#sec-managing which seems to confuse me a bit ! Taking the example of the the KSK, If I have a descriptive text say S1 , the first thing done it to obtain a public/private key pair. The public key is hashed to give a filekey. The private half is used to encrypt the file. Consider that we are not doing an encryption with S1.Even then any node storing the file will not be able to find the contents of my file. This is because the keypair can be generated only using the descriptive text.Doesn't this by itself provide enough repudiation to the storer of the data ? Why do we need to encrypt furthur using the text .. emm .. I think I am missing something here .. Nav.
