Of course you need working connections.  The primary use of dyndns is to 
allow other nodes to find yours after your ip has changed (they may have been
offline during when this happened).  With ARKs they should be able to query
for your new ip.

The danger is that no nodes are connectable.  Once you have five or six refs
this is a small risk.

However you do make a point.  There _is_ reason to allow dyndns etc - they
make it easier for nodes to find one working connection...
