The airport extreme is actually really good. And it doesn't have to be the extreme either... Can be the express. It does IPv6, 6to4, NAT-PMP, supports active roaming... The only things it doesn't do, AFAIK, is to be a VPN server for your home. There is one significant drawback. There is one, and only one way to configure it. You must run airport utility, which means you must have a mac. Otherwise, you can't even do simple things like change its IP address, blah blah blah.
