ECC is not something revolution, it is an new public key algorithm but is
similar to the exist ones. Cryptographically there is no known way to break
ECC, RSA, DSA etc.  However the main benefit of ECC is that the size of the
key. If you read the NIST guidelines for key sizes and equivalence, you can
see the issue with RSA/DSA and where ECC is nice. Now consider phones,etc,
with limited CPU power.
