I'd agree Isilon is worth looking at. 

We looked at them, but we're at the other end of their comfort zone: we
need a huge amount of NFSops (70,000+, mostly metadata ) and Isilon
doesn't really benchmark well there (10 node cluster only got to about
35,000 ops/sec at a reasonable latency):

If you're mostly data-intensive they look like a solid fit.
