A hotel might not object to have customers setting up additional extensions
to their wired LAN. Companies on the other hand probably do not want that
happening in their networks.

I would just like to offer a warning here that if this person forgets to
turn off the WiFi sharing service while visiting a important customer and/or
his/her own company, that would help to create unanticipated security risks.
Perhaps a hardware router that must be plugged in/off the wall would
inherently ensure that this doesn't happen inadvertently.
