If at all possible, get the major vendors to lend you products so you
can run tests on your own traffic.  We did this 2+ years ago with
Silverpeak (who we went with), Riverbed and possibly Bluecoat.  

Most of our traffic is Netapp SnapMirror, and at the time Silverpeak
did the best job for us.  The reporting still isn't great, since it's
*really* annoying to trying to find the current flow which is hogging
your pipe at that moment.  

But otherwise, they're rock solid and just work.  We haven't had any
major problems with them at all, and they do make a difference.

Of course, none of these products are perfect, and if you have large
latency, it's going to suck any way.  Look back in the Sage and Lopsa
archives for my rants on this in the past.
