Chris Siebenmann has been talking about his experiences with ZFS
for a long time now on his Wandering Thoughts wiki/blog [0].

Easiest way to find those entries might be to go to

and search for ZFS. There are many.

My impression is that they're pretty happy with a lot of things
about ZFS and their setup, but it's fairly complicated and they've
frequently had to resort to the OpenSolaris codebase to actually
understand (and fix or work around) some problems that they've
had. It all sounded sufficiently daunting that I've become
retrospectively happy that the machine I wanted to install
OpenSolaris on so I could play with it a few years back wasn't
compatible, leading me to give up on it.
