Last time I used eroff (not on SCO; it was an Altos 1000, around 1988-9) it
was a port of DWB, and the primary macro package was -mm.  I don't recall a
lot of details beyond it being somewhat finicky about what macros could be
used where and what could be nested in what whats, and a lot different from
-ms, -me (which was the old AT&T version, not the enhanced BSD version), and
the modern standard -mdoc / -mandoc.  (We eventually migrated to LaTeX.)

I didn't reply earlier because I don't recall much in terms of details and
most certainly do not have access to it any more (the company folded in 1996
and I think we'd pitched the eroff stuff before that).
