Juniper Netscreen VPN concentrators does a pretty good job at a
reasonable price point with reasonable ease of management as a small
(1U?) rackmount appliance that's mostly setup-and-forget.

SSL-based but just requires Java to work so it's multiplatform (tested
and verified firsthand). This includes mobile devices it works on.

That said, I haven't looked at 3DES-based concentrators in a while
(which usually requires a client and config on each client host).
