Only if you end up needing to boot with a failed boot disk. I always have hot 
swap
disks so that rarely happens. Disk fails, replace disk, rebuild mirror. If it
does somehow go down or needs a reboot with a failed boot disk you needed
someone there to physically swap a disk (manual intervention) anyway. I use
both kickstart and puppet to ensure that the bootloader is installed properly
on both disks which is a great help.
