Some RAID systems (fake or real)....don't have MBRs on the mirror drive...to 
avoid having two drives with the same disk signature. (Some don't care, others 
have different MBRs...) 

But, this was a problem I found when I tried to recover a Windows 2000 server 
years ago, but taking the mirror and putting it into similar hardware. 

Came across it with a hardware raid system...which I thought was interesting 
because I was going from ufsboot to zfsboot...though I had already gone to the 
trouble of find an extra pair of drives to upgrade back and forth with.
