The last time I was a solo sysadmin we were a small school within a larger university. We had some people who knew how to do some routine tasks, then we contracted with another sysadmin group to provide backup support if needed. I made sure they had access to all our documentation, and my boss had a sealed envelope with *all* the root and network passwords. (in a solo shop, *someone* should ALWAYS have an envelope like this at all times!!!)
My boss was technical enough to give an overview of what services we had and how they were provided; if there isn't someone like that I'd try to give a brief tour before disappearing. _______________________________________________ Tech mailing list [email protected] https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
