We have a parallelizing wrapper around rsync that we used for a recent migration. Using 2 netapp filers mounted via NFS on a sun x4100 we were able to re-sync(with ~0 changes) in under an hour with about 160 million files spread over about 6000 directories, with up to about 100.000 files(flat, no subdirs) in the most recent directories. I don't remember the number of simultaneous rsync processes we were using but I think it was 16 or 32. -Steve _______________________________________________ Tech mailing list [email protected] http://lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tech This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
