Don't you have a backup of those files? Couldn't you just restore those
files?

The world, especially solaris, is changing so fast, I don't think a book is
the way to go. I suggest the opensolaris-discuss and opensolaris-help and
zfs-discuss mailing lists. If you're using "Solaris" and not opensolaris,
you might just mention that in any post where it would be relevant.
Sometimes it makes a difference.

You should also become familiar with:
        iostat
        zpool iostat
        nfsstat
And there's another one ... etherstat? netstat? I forget.

What is your server OS?
What is the client OS?
How are your server disks configured? (ZFS, hardware raid, software raid,
SSD ZIL or L2ARC etc)
Is everything working on a flat LAN?
What are the performance issues you're seeing?

I have always needed to tune Linux NFS servers, and have never needed to
tune solaris NFS servers. Solaris is simply much stronger by way of NFS.
