Thanks Philip. At least it is known. Maybe I'll look into a small patch for ld. In the meantime I recieved a small patch for /usr/ports/x11/gtk+2 to remove the cups use, I'm trying. Linux and NetBSD have pretty broad coverage..but I guess e.g. 68k/88k/vax might be a stretch. And I assume you'd like all ports to use the same gcc/ld. - Jay
