for what its worth as of Aug 12 snapshot acpi suspend now works
'fan-fucking-tastically' here as well :D ibm thinkpad t41p with
radeon graphics, console suspend and x suspect sleeps and wakes
very quickly, efficiently and flawlessly. very cool. thanks guys!
