In terms of real Solaris, one of the machine types it runs on is the
netra x1 which has a Davicom DM9102, which is a dec 21140 "tulip" clone
using the dc(4) driver on OpenBSD. As far as NICs go, this might not be
too horrendous to emulate - at least, Microsoft managed to emulate a
21140 in Virtual Server, and numerous NIC vendors made clones of it.
