Hi!
I was given a Bluetooth keyboard yesterday and I've started using it
with the EEEPC and things went better than expected.
Connecting the keyboard to the computer was a snap, just a case of
selecting the "Bluetooth" icon in the system tree, right clicking and
selecting "Add Device", then pressing a button on the back of the
keyboard, waiting for the Netbook to find it and following the wizard.
I'm surprised at the lack of delay between keyboard and computer, when
I'd tried bluetooth with another keyboard on another computer quite some
time ago the delay had been more than a quarter of a second which could
be a little irritating at times but the delay between EEEPC Netbook and
keyboard now is less than a tenth of a second, a huge difference and
barely noticed.
Now comes the tricky part, this keyboard resembles an Apple Bluetooth
keyboard thus it doesn't haave a number pad, an insert or a delete key.
I use NVDA here as my Screen Reader so it was easy enough to modify the
NVDA key from an isnert to the Cap Lock key though I had to play around
in the start-up section of the registry to disable the Capsbook utility
that Asus use for reasons not known to me <smile>.
The next problem I'm having is working out just what key combination to
use for a "Delete" key simulation, does anyone have any ideas? I've
tried holding the FN key down with the Backspace key but this
combination of keys doesn't appear to do anything.
Instruction manual is next to useless, it just tells you how to "Pair"
the keyboard.
If anyone can help then it would be very much appreciated.
