Have you tried tftp or its more common file transfer
agent known as ftp?

You can access both of those applications on your Mac by
something like ftp 192.168.1.1 or

tftp 192.168.1.1

If it is ftp, you will actually be prompted for a
user ID and password. You normally enter your user
id and then [email protected] as the password. With
tftp, you just get somefile.exe or someotherfile.txt.

The ftp service needs ports 20 and 21 to be opened in
your firewall but Macs usually take care of this automatically.
I just tried a tftp to a system I know supports it and it just
worked. You access tftp or just plain ftp via terminal.

I admit this is a long shot, but your router may be
using one of those applications to deliver the files.
