Lynne,

I can personally recommend it for the following reasons:

1. It now has a actual on and off switch, so us blind folk no longer have to
guess if the unit is on or off or powered up yet.

2. The unit switches on and off much quicker than before.

3. The unit has much longer battery life.

4. An additional external microphone can be worn so you can hide the unit
completely under your clothes.

5. The unit contains text to speech which can be enabled to give blind users
even more feedback of what the compilot is doing, i.e. if the battery is
getting low, or if it has successfully found other devices, or even read out
caller ID from incoming calls.

6. Having a remote built into the unit, also means you can turn the volume up
or down of streaming audio too.

7. When using the audio jack, the compilot no longer switches back to normal
listening mode if there is a pause of audio for a couple of seconds, this could
be quite annoying when using TTS on your computer, as soon as you stopped
typing the iCom would switch back and forth.

8. Battery seems much quicker to charge.

9. The unit is much more reliable and has better bluetooth performance.

As you can imagine, I am very happy with mine.
