Yes, I think Vm Fusion is the way forward. Yes the key remappings could
be a pain but I reckon it's easy when you know how. I tried Parallels
Desktop today and to put it mildly I was very angry that the company
Parallels can't be bothered to implement accessibility yet all macs come
with VoiceOver so no excuses at all. Shall not be paying the £64 but
Vmware can certainly have my £40 soon.

Although apple offer boot camp I am not sure that their heart is in it. I
had myriad problems. The magic trackpad did not work for example, nor did
the wireless keyboard. Although these problems are resolvable they are
complicated and involve removing them in the Mac side and then installing
them in the windows side with Bluetooth assistant and then re-pairing them
in the Mac side. In the end I used a wired keyboard, and used a wired mouse
so that somebody sighted could use the interface. It is not that great a
windows environment in practice and I found several compatibility issues
with software that worked fine on Windows machines and under VM Fusion would
not work under boot Camp. Although you in theory get access to all resources
this will not include Mac os formatted drives . In addition the default boot
camp partition is tiny and you will soon run out of space even for programs.
If you want to use boot camp seriously then you really need to increase the
default size of the partition at the outset, as it is complicated to amend
this afterwards.
Just my experience. I will probably not delete it now I have it but on a new
Mac I would not now bother.

Subject: Windows 7 install via Bootcamp
Hello all.
I am looking into the possibility of having a dual boot system on my Macbook
Pro running Mountain Lion. This is done via Bootcamp. I was able to get
Bootcamp assistant to download the Windows support software and create the
bootcamp partition, no problem. Then I got so far with the Windows
installation, but chickend out as I am not sure if the bootcamp partition is
selected in the "where do you want to install Windows?"
screen. I am also not sure of the accelerator keys, alt plus whatever, to
click the drive options (advanced), then format, then ok, then next.
Does anybody have any ideas?
If not, I might just play safe and consider VMware Fusion. I don't have
sighted assistance all the time so like to have a go at things myself.
So want as much independence as possible as I'm sure you can appreciate.
Thank you in advance for any ideas.
