Hello,
Do any of you folks on this list have experience of using a Nokia Smart Phone,
such as the Nokia 500, with the free Nokia Screen reader? If so do you have any
comments on its suitability for use by blind and visually impaired people?

FYI the Nokia 500 is a touch screen mobile phone with 3G, wifi, bluetooth, a 5
MP camera, and GPS. It offers Internet, Email, and Navigation using Nokia maps.
It costs about £120.

My interest is that I am updating a web page at www.rpfb.org.uk on mobile
phones in the RP and technology section. I am covering the iPhone, the Android
running the fully accessible Android 4.1, the Georgie suite of applications
designed for the blind on an Android phone, and the specialist talking basic
phones offered by the RNIB.

Given its low price and its free screen reader I wonder if the Nokia phone is a
possible low cost alternative for blind people to the iPhone and the Android.
If you have any experience of Nokia smart phones running the Simbian operating
system I would appreciate your comments.

Many thanks.

Paul Hopewell
