It wouldn’t be the first time Mike and friends have been hauled over the coals.
I remember when they were branding their product the “Freedom Box”. Freedom
is a registered trade name of Freedom Scientific, and they were successful in
that law suit. Thankfully, for many users world wide (including myself), they
didn’t go under. But they were forced to totally re-brand. I own a copy of
AccessToGo but only the stand-alone version. I refuse to participate in their
network, as I see it as way to restrictive and it kind of segregates the
so-called community from the rest of the world. Now, before anybody leaps up
and down barking, (a technique which, presumably, they learned from some furry
friend, yes, I do know that you can message and communicate with those outside
of the network but my point here is that obviously, their services are not
available to non-members. That’s perfectly true of other services as well, but
not, I submit, to the same extent as SA2Go.

Now, before I get my head bitten off by those leaping and barking owners of
teaching animals, I am not suggesting for a moment that others cannot, do not,
will not nor should not benefit from these services. Companies which make our
lives easier are always welcome. I also happen to believe that as a stand-by,
SA2Go stand-alone has a lot to offer. That’s why my other half exercised her
right to license it on my behalf.

I also own a copy of Dolphin Supernova Screen-reader which, to the very best of
my knowledge, does not offer remote access in any sense. Yes, Chris, you’ll
find this in the Linux world, of course. But we’re not discussing Linux in
this context. But as far as the Windows user is concerned, I’m afraid that,
unless one owns a copy of Jaws with remote access and/or Window-Eyes, one is
totally up the proverbial creek.

Now, it’s also only fair to remind the group that GW Micro recently teamed up
with Microsoft, (probably to save their bacon), and made Window-Eyes free for
anybody who owns a copy of Office 2010 or later. Quite a bold move, but I’m
really glad that I didn’t buy one of their SMA licenses. I’d imagine customers
who did would be pretty darn angry at this point. I know I would.

Kind regards

Gordon, you forgot about Orca, for Linux, which has built in remote access, and
also System Access on the Windows side, which offers remote access, but then,
frankly in my opinion, and probably not that of everyone, I'd not use S A to go
nor Mobile network if you paid me to do so!
