Good evening, morning or whatever it is when you read this! I haven't had the time to do much with this yet other than to wire it into my system, on the bact of my TV. But yesterday afternoon, I bought myself one of these little things, as as think it the simplest method of piping audio/video content from my Mac and other devides to my TV.
In order to set these up, I believe you need to use the Google Home app. That said, as with the Amazon Echo, it seems that you can also do this from your computer using Google's version of the online interface. So I'm going to look into that as well. Anyway, I opted to go with the Ultra, rather than buying two to eparate devices. But I cannot deny that the stereo audio interface may also have it's place, so maybe I will acquire one of those as well. I could then use them both in separate physical locations and thus be able to grab audio from my downstairs systems upstairs. More as I discover it, although somebody asked me earlier today what was the advantage of doing things this way rather than just using AirPlay. I think the answer to that question is better compatibility. Not every device supports AirPlay. So it will be interesting to see how many devices on my local area network will support the ChromeCast Ultra. ============================== My Compliments And Kindest Regards Gordon Smith 'Accessibility And Information Technology Support Specialist ------------------------------
