Thanks for that, I found it just as easy to set the device up through
the Google Home App, both IOS and Android versions are accessible.
Speaking of Google Home, I've found a store on eBay locally that sells
the Google Home Voice Assistant so I've ordered one.

Just to correct you in one area here. There is indeed a website where you can
set up any Google Home, ChromeCast, etc.

Hi!
Its debatable as to whether you need have gone as the Chromecast Ultra given
its not going to give you any advantage whatever over the Chromecast II which
is the latest generation.
Yep, the Chromecast Ultra will handle 4K TV but there's no difference in audio
quality but your choice.
I have two Chromecasts here, the Chromecast II and the Chromecast Audio and - as you
hinted - I do use each in a different location. I'm soon to receive an Amazon Echo
dot so I might replace the Chromecast Audio with that as it has a few features the
Chromecast Audio doesn't have such as Bluetooth transmission to speakers or
headphones but one thing at a time <smile>.
Yes, like the Echo the Chromecasts connect to a Wi-Fi network however I've
never seen any mention of a web page for doing the setup, I used the Google
Home App which is accessible on both Android and IOS devices, just follow the
instructions and enter the information as required.
The Chromecast Ultra has a LAN port on the Power Adapter I believe so I'm not
sure how this interacts with everything.
Anyway good luck.

Good evening, morning or whatever it is when you read this!
I haven't had the time to do much with this yet other than to wire it into my
system, on the bact of my TV. But yesterday afternoon, I bought myself one of
these little things, as as think it the simplest method of piping audio/video
content from my Mac and other devides to my TV.
In order to set these up, I believe you need to use the Google Home app. That
said, as with the Amazon Echo, it seems that you can also do this from your
computer using Google's version of the online interface. So I'm going to look
into that as well. Anyway, I opted to go with the Ultra, rather than buying two
to eparate devices. But I cannot deny that the stereo audio interface may also
have it's place, so maybe I will acquire one of those as well. I could then use
them both in separate physical locations and thus be able to grab audio from my
downstairs systems upstairs.
More as I discover it, although somebody asked me earlier today what was the
advantage of doing things this way rather than just using AirPlay. I think the
answer to that question is better compatibility. Not every device supports
AirPlay. So it will be interesting to see how many devices on my local area
network will support the ChromeCast Ultra.
