I had a listen to these over the last weekend.

The Polk Omni S6 - the bigger of the two - is a stereo speaker designed to stand on its own with Play-Fi compatibility.

The Polk Omni S2 is a portable speaker which - though it can be used on its own - does far better when its used in a paired arrangement.

The Omni S2 has Bluetooth streaming whereas the Omni S6 does not.

Both speaker units have an Aux-In connection, a universal feautre? Well just about as only one model of Sonos Wireless speaker has an Aux-in.

So how do you stream your music or listen to Internet Radio with these Omni Spekaers? With the S2 one can use Bluetooth but the obvious way is to use the DTS Play-Fi App, Polk Audio have their own version of this if You'd prefer but the Apps are - apart from graphics - exactly the same, the Apps are available for Andriod, IOS and PC.

Once each speaker is connected to your Network you can use the Play-Fi App to make a group of speakers for multi-room playback - two Polk Omni S2 speakers for example - and select what you wish to stream to them.

A wide selection of sources is presented here, most music services - didn't see any mention of Apple Music - along with Internet Radio and Media Servers are available.

I've found quality of audio from Play-Fi to be very good so obviously a lot of fixing of bugs has gone on with DTS Play-Fi since I saw initial reviews of the App and associated products.

So what do the speakers sound like? The Polk Omni S6 is a very clear sounding room filling speaker, perhaps a bit too much bottom and a little resident but perfectly acceptable to listen to.

The Omni S2 sounds a little dull on its own but is perfectly clear though perhaps the tops get lost with all the midrange and bottom? I won't really know until I get another Omni S2 to pair as a stereo pair.

For now though the Omni S2 will be a very good outdoor Wi-Fi speaker which runs on an internal rechargeable battery.
